Go Sonoma State!

This morning I woke up and was planning on having a lazy day as was my good friend Tanya as I noticed her status on facebook. Knowing my buddy was close to a place I needed to go, I decided to text her and ask of her plans. She happened to be on her way to ikea. So instead of finishing getting ready, I went to my room, turned on the tv, and cuddled up. 2 mins later...my phone rings. Its my buddy! She has changed her mind about ikea due to traffic. Yay for me.

I wanted to go to Sonoma State to get my cousin, a future student there, part of his graduation gift. Knowing the store closed at 4pm, and seeing how it was 1 o'clock, I gathered my makeup, threw on some jeans and ran out the door. 2 short hours later I arrived at Tanya's house!

She jumped in the car and off we went. It was a beautiful campus! And to my surprise it was graduation day! Full of people in their Sunday best...and me dressed like I just woke up... We get to the store, not really impressed with the selection, I make my purchases and back to the car we went. As we were pulling out of the campus Tanya has an idea. She remembered this gravity hill that Sonoma has, that Mike had taken her long ago and since we had no other plans we became determined to find this hill. She called Mike, who couldn't remember where is was. Then she pulls the ol' iPhone out and finds us some directions! Yay for iPhones! We make a few turns and suddenly we were out in the country. As we were driving I noticed the road was getting bumpier and very narrow...all up hill, curvy and surrounded by nothing. One wrong turn later and we were asking a woman walking her dog where a certain street was... I ended up having to turn around on a road that was not wide enough, the next thing we know...I got stuck! Only for a second but it was hilarious! And a little creepy...

Private drive way I got stuck in...

Creepy, narrow, curvy road...

OK so we are turned around and headed in the right direction. We come up on a little car with some stupid teenage boys, stopped at the bottom of this hill. Tanya realizes that they were doing the same thing we set out to do. I pass them and go up the hill where we stop and turn around at this creepy old gate, which was really hard to do seeing how not wide the road is and how anyone could come speeding up the other side...

We pass the boys, start laughing our heads off when we see them up close, then we turn around again. At this point the boys had done it and drove off, now it was our turn. We come to the bottom of the hill, I put the car in Neutral, and slowly we began to roll up hill! It was so exciting!!!!
I think we were more excited that we actually found the hill! But it was so cool to be moving especially UP a HILL!!!

Our adventure continued with lunch, and a walk in downtown Petaluma. Where Tanya took me to this awesome candy store!
I was so impressed! I picked up a little for me, a little something for my jennib and a little something for my cousin! It was pretty cool to walk around and just check everything out. We even tried to spy on the yacht club party...

After a short trip to JoAnns, I dropped Tanya off and headed back to Sac.

Can't wait to see whats next! Oh and another point for iPhone, thats 2 now!

Last weekend.

I decided to go visit my old pal Tanya since we haven't seen each other since I moved back.

I headed to the engaged couple's soon to be home, awesome by the way, where I met up with Tanya and Mike. Us girls went to lunch at Chevy's and it was really good! After some good food and some time to catch up on Tanya's wedding plans, we went to Golden Spoon for some frozen yogurt! MMMMM it was so good. We are definitely people watchers, so while we were chatting away, we were also watching the many interesting folks of Santa Rosa enjoying the warm summer day. I kept seeing these really old cars driving by, 1920 ish, and kept pointing them out. So Tanya pulls out the ol' iPhone and discovers that we could go see these cars up close and personal at the old hotel The Flamingo. Guess what? We decided to go!

We jump in the car, go pick up Mike, and head to the other side of town. It was really cool to see all of these amazing cars literally 100 years old! Since we were there, we also decided to sit down next to the pool and enjoy a cold adult beverage...mmmmm. The Flamingo was from the 70's and bursting with some old folks sporting their 20's outfits! Really funny!

After a yummy drink we went out for dinner. There is a really good Mexican place that Tanya and Mike go to all the time and now they got me addicted to it! Fun day!

Pictures to come...

1 point for the iPhone!

The purpose...

Tanya and I have recently decided that we love going and doing random things, and being spontaneous. The past two weekends we have done randoms things that are silly and most would ask Why?

Our plan is to have random days where we are both bored at home, stick our hands in a hat full of our ideas of things to do, written on little pieces of paper, then do them! Granted some ideas will have to be planned, but they are things that you normally wouldn't think of doing nor would our other friends be interested in doing.

We will post videos and pictures and then tell you about our day! Come along and have fun with us!
